if you install newpipe from anywhere other than what is listed on their official website, you are not downloading newpipe and may be downloading something malicious. uninstall immediately. I linked the website in the first post because there are people who maliciously insert bad code into all kinds of great apps and then release them somewhere else. there are no ads if you download from newpipe’s github, website, or f-droid entry, through the link in the first post.
if you see someone in this post talking about getting ads on their newpipe install, please consider reaching out to them with this information. I know not everyone will see this, and it really sucks to see so many people finding downloads from somewhere other than the official source I posted and accusing newpipe itself of being malicious.

As a public service announcement, someone scraped every single text file on GameFAQS in March 2020 for archival purposes, and you can find it on archive.org with the title “Gamespot TXT GameFAQs - Full Archive.” You can download the whole thing (it’s about 2 gigs) if you want to spite Wikia’s attempts to make themselves the gatekeepers of all fan knowledge.

the average blockbuster carried about 3x as many films than that that are streaming on Netflix or any other streaming service, physical media along with piracy is more important than ever.
I thought this wasn’t true, because how could it be true? How could one small store have more movies than an online database? So I googled it.
I am surprised and depressed to learn it’s 100% true, according to google. A Blockbuster store was required to have a minimum of 7000 titles, but most averaged about 10,000. Netflix has 4000 movies. (And 1800 tv shows if you want to count those, but even included, it’s still less)
Now I’m even more depressed about the collapse of physical rental stores.
